Denver Movers Guide to Summer Moving

Summer Moving Tip #1: Dress for Success

We’re not recommending you dress in your most stylish pantsuit. Dressing for a successful move during the summer months mean wearing lightweight and comfortable clothes you can move around in freely. Since you’ll be outside quite a bit we also strongly recommend applying and reapplying plenty of sunscreen.

Moving to a new place can be exciting and stressful at the same time. With summer just around the corner and the semi-arid climate of Colorado intensifying the summer heat, moving can be even more stressful. Here are a few moving tips that will help you stay cool this summer.

Summer Moving Tip #2: Drink Plenty of Fluids

A person will expend more energy at higher altitudes because your body has to work harder to get enough oxygen and stay hydrated. Drink plenty of water and keep a large water bottle filled in an ice box to keep it cold. Electrolytes are also important to stay hydrated. Gatorade is great for summer moving and when you’re on the go. We also recommend coconut water, which contains more concentrated amounts of electrolytes than any other beverage.

Summer Moving Tip #3: Earlier is Better

If you plan far enough ahead, you can schedule professional Denver movers to begin moving your items early in the day before the high-noon heat looms over you. Scheduling your move early in the day will also allow you to get the moving part out of the way so you can then focus the rest of your day on unpacking and getting situated in your new home.

Summer Moving Tip #4: Move Mid-Month

The beginning and the end of the summer months tend to be busiest times to move. If you plan ahead and have the luxury of moving mid-month or mid-week, you could save quite a bit of time.

Summer Moving Tip #5: Don’t Leave Food in the Car

Sometimes you need a Snickers boost or an energy bar while you’re moving. The last thing you want is to take a bite out of 90-degree snacks or make a mess out of your melted candy bar. Try not to leave these snack items sitting in the car, or use the same ice box you keep your water in to keep your snacks at a reasonable temperature.
